About Motherly Provisions
I started Motherly Provisions as I became newly pregnant with my son. Originally the idea was to create a community to welcome in my own motherhood. Alas, as motherhood does, there has been drastic transformation since then.
These last few years have been a swirling vortex between maidenhood and motherhood. Thought to happen immediately when you become a mother, I have reckoned with the now understanding that this is multi-year-long process of saying goodbye to maiden energies and welcoming in the “Mother Me”.
Today Motherly Provisions is a space in which I embrace the wholeness of myself; past and present, ugly and beautiful.
As a young girl, we would spend our summers in the Finger Lakes region of New York State. A beloved memory of that time for me was crafting with beads, thread, and boondoggle. There was a bead shop in the village that I frequented with my craft box. A time before TV and smart phones. It was a joyous way to spend the long summer days, barefoot by the water, crafting with my hands and my heart.
This jewelry is an homage to that girl with a fine bohemian spin.
I’m happy to share this love with you.
Natalie
